Dr. Manthei is currently president of the Nevada State Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners, and a Board Member of the Nevada Osteopathic Medical Association, the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Osteopathic College of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology. Dr. Manthei is also past president of both the Las Vegas and Nevada Ophthalmology Society and the Nevada Osteopathic Society. In addition to Dr. Manthei's extensive involvement in the medical community, he is also active in local southern Nevada commercial and residential real estate development. Dr. Manthei received his B.S. degree from the University of Michigan and his Medical Degree at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan, where he was awarded the prestigious Mead Johnson Research and Alvin Morrow Award. Dr. Manthei has been a Board Certified Ophthalmologist since 1991 and was awarded the Presidential Achievement Award from A.O.C.O.O. and the Grass Roots Advocate Award from N.O.M.A in 2004.
Edward M. Nigro (pictured center) Edward M. Nigro, Managing Member and Founder of Desert Canyon rehabilitation Hospital, has been actively engaged in the development, ownership, and operation of real estate since 1979 and as an investor and manager in healthcare and diversified business enterprises since 1984. Nigro Associates, his real estate and construction firm, has developed and constructed over $500,000,000 of commercial and residential projects. Mr. Nigro is the President of Nigro, Inc. and also serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bank of George, a bank he founded in 2007. From 1994 to 2006 Mr. Nigro served as Chairman of the Audit Committee and director of Bank West of Nevada and Western Alliance Bank corporation, a NYSE multi-bank holding company with 4 billion in assets. From 1993 through its sale in 1996, he was a principal shareholder and the Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of Prime Holdings Inc. (and its predecessor entities), which was then the largest privately-held healthcare delivery concern in Nevada, with over 290,000 members in its Preferred Provider Organization and over 15,000 patients per month at its primary care clinic operations. Previously, he held numerous senior management positions at Del Webb Corporations, including as Chief Operations Officer and Director for that company’s six hotel-casino properties, with annual revenues of in excess of $400,000,000. Mr. Nigro is a National Vice President of the Muscular Dystrophy Association and a member of the Advisory Board for the Nevada Habitat for Humanity. He has been active in numerous philanthropic organizations including Director of the Nevada Policy Research Institute, Boy Scouts of America, the United Way (having chaired the Casino Division for that organization’s campaigns), the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce (having served as its Vice President and as a member of its Board of Directors), and the Nevada Resort Association (having served as a Director and a member of its Executive Committee). Mr. Nigro is a graduate of Holy Cross College. He has also served as a Commissioned Officer with the United States Air Force, where he was awarded the Air Medal for Combat Missions in Vietnam, two commendation medals for Meritorious Service, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and numerous other medals and awards.
A. Allan Stipe, President (pictured right) Mr. Stipe has held executive management positions in acute care hospitals since 1974. He has served as the Las Vegas Market President for HCA, President/Chief Executive Officer for Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center/Sunrise Children's Hospital, and Southwest Division President for Columbia/HCA. Mr. Stipe served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the largest acute care hospital system in southern Nevada for over 15 years, and is responsible for the development of two new acute care hospitals as well as Nevada's first and only children's hospital. His experience includes development of the first and only CARF certified inpatient rehabilitation unit serving southern Nevada. Mr. Stipe is a member of the Board of Directors for Nathan Adelson Hospice and of the US Bank Advisory Board of Directors. He has served as Board Chairman of the Nevada Hospital Association and the Federation of American Hospital Board of Governors, and as Nevada Delegate to the American Hospital Association. Mr. Stipe served two terms as the Gubernatorial Appointee to the Judicial Selection Committee for the State of Nevada. Mr. Stipe is the recipient of numerous community awards including the Humanitarian of the Year by the Arthritis Foundation, Civic Leader of the Year by the Nevada Kidney Foundation, Honoree of the Decade by the Clark County Safe Kids Coalition, Most Influential Men in Southern Nevada by In Business Magazine, Nurses Choice Award by the March of Dimes, Champion of Learning Award by the Clark County Public Education Foundation, and as one of the Distinguished Men of Southern Nevada. Mr. Stipe received his Bachelors and Masters degrees from Oregon State University and is a licensed pharmacist in Oregon, Arizona, and Nevada.
