Suzanne Cram Named CEO
Of Desert Canyon Rehabilitation Hospital
LAS VEGAS, NV – Suzanne Cram has been named Chief Executive Officer of Desert Canyon Rehabilitation Hospital, which will open in early 2007. The new facility is presently under construction in southwest Las Vegas at I-215 and Russell Road.
Mrs. Cram has spent 38 years in acute care hospitals serving community healthcare needs. She was the first female Chief Operating Officer of Sunrise Hospital and Sunrise Children’s Hospital, a 700 bed facility in Las Vegas, Nevada. Prior to this position she served as the Vice President of Outpatient Services Development at Sunrise and was responsible for 30 inpatient rehabilitation beds as well as the outpatient rehabilitation center for the hospital. Cram also held the position of Associate Director (Vice President) of the adult hospital at the University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia, Missouri. She began her career as a bedside nurse and continued serving patients in administrative positions as her career progressed.
Cram’s community service in Las Vegas has included membership on the Board of the Center for Urban Partnerships at UNLV, School-to-Work Joint Technical Skills Committee of the Clark County School District, the Nevada Medical Credentialing Service, the Clark County Health District’s Facilities Advisory Board and the Board of Second Chance. She also served on the Juvenile Diabetes Research Board and was Chairwoman of the Corporate Fundraising effort for 2004.
She has authored numerous healthcare articles for medical publications and was the recipient of the Baxter Literary Award for Outstanding Article of the Year in AART Times. She was named one of 25 Notable Las Vegas Women in May, 2004, one of the 20 Most Influential Business Women in 2001 and 2004 and most recently one of 200 notable women in the first 100 years of Las Vegas’ history and development.
Suzanne received her bachelor’s degree in nursing and a master’s degree in education. She is a member of Christ the King Parish and is active in grief support in the community.
