Some orthopedic injuries such as bone fractures or sports injuries may be considered mild and require only a limited amount of physical rehabilitation. More serious problems such as multiple bone fractures, joint replacements, hip or knee fractures and arthritis, may require intensive rehabilitation to regain function. These types of conditions have lifelong implications and often result in short-term disability. Desert Canyon Rehabilitation Hospital offers comprehensive physical rehabilitation services to help orthopedic patients achieve optimal function. Therapy may be completed on either an inpatient or outpatient basis depending upon your individual needs. Our program will be designed to treat a variety of orthopedic conditions affecting the muscles, bones and connective tissues.
We work together as a team (you, your family and our staff) to develop a comprehensive therapy program specifically designed to meet your individualized therapy goals. Your participation in either our inpatient or outpatient programs is dependent upon your medical stability, need for nursing care, therapy goals and family and home support. Rest assured we will work with you, every step of the way, to assist you in regaining function and in coping with the physical and psychological impact of your condition so that you can achieve optimal living.
Benefits of a comprehensive program Whether you are an inpatient or outpatient program, you will experience an environment at Desert Canyon unlike any other. In addition to participating in daily therapy activities, you will also have time to practice daily living skills, mobility, use of adaptive equipment and socialization.
